This place is amazing. I had the special chicken & shrimp with pesto and sundried tomatoes over spaghetti which was amazing and a lot to where I had leftovers of the chicken. It comes with homemade bread and a salad. I had the garden salad with their homemade creamy balsamic dressing. Yum!! Was enticed by the Nutella tiramisu. Holy cow!! I want to lick the plate!

Employees are attentive the second you walk through the door. They have a case full of sautéed sides you can choose or take out. I got some grilled zucchini to take back to the hotel room. They dressed it with EVOO and balsamic. It's meant to be eaten at room temp but can be reheated. I also ordered the white pizza--it was delicious but "dry", since I'm used to the wetter red pies. The plain regular tomato-cheese was also good--nice thin tasteful crust. They had a 2 slice and soda lunch deal for $6.99 and didn't mind wrapping one for home. They are a full Italian menu place with many infused seafood dishes. The kitchen is open and visible from the entrance--love seeing the passion at work! They proudly explained their dishes and how they were cooked. My favorite item was the dessert svogliatelle--an orange-flavored delicate filling in a layered pastry served warm. Worth every cent of $3.50.

So, if you're vacationing on St. Pete Beach and you're trying to ascertain which places are worth your money and which aren't, let me tell you: Tuttorossa IS worth your money. I live about 10 minutes away and can't believe I've missed this place. The restaurant owners took over an entire strip mall and made it into a lovely restaurant. THIS was a divine experience. We wanted simple Italian-American food, and we didn't want to pay a bunch of money, so we took a chance here instead of our regular Italian restaurant (Pia's, which is lovely, but I can't resist her specials and, as I said, we were looking for less expensive). First, one of the owners - who was also cooking - showed us to our table, which was nice of him to do as the servers were all busy. Second, the pasta is touted as "house"made instead of "home"made, which has always been an irritation to me. Now, the food. We ordered the garlic cheese bread, which was so thick that by the second piece you don't want to eat any more. Our meals both came with salads, which were mixed greens and nicely done. The dressing (we both asked for it on the side) was the house, a creamy Italian vinaigrette of some sort, and was delicious. It's the first time in recent memory I've finished the dinner salad that comes before the meal. The entrees were wonderful: Cannelloni and lasagna. The cannelloni was not just stuffed with cheese - it was mostly meat. What a nice surprise! The lasagna was also not overdone with cheese. Neither of us finished our meals (portion size is huge) and we're both looking forward to dinner tonight. Helga waited on us and she suggested the cannelloni and the lasagna. She was diligent, polite, and between her and the kitchen our food was timed perfectly - we had a chance to finish our salads and she was able to clear away our plates before our entrees arrived. When my dining partner told her he preferred something else because the merlot was too sweet, she took back the glass with no argument. We told her we didn't mind paying for it (after all, it's not her fault we chose the wrong wine) but she took it off our bill. In all, probably the best experience at an Italian-American restaurant on St. Pete Beach I've ever had. The lack of a fifth star is because I found their tomato gravy (sauce, for many of you) a touch too sweet. It tasted like I expect a pizza sauce to taste. But don't let that stop you!

We had the unfortunate experience of dining here yesterday. It was early afternoon and all the other restaurants in the area were packed. That should have been a sign. We ordered and either the server forgot our appetizer of garlic knots, or the kitchen forgot them. We watched an entire I tray of knots come out of the oven, seems they don't bother cooking to order, then our knots came out with our meal. They were passable, but yeasty. The meal itself was not even worth eating. I ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich. The sauce was put on the bread so it was soggy and impossible to pick up. The breaking fell off the chicken and it looked more like thin chunks of processes tofu than chicken. The fries were overdone, bordering on inedible. My boyfriend had the muffalata, the bread was stale, it was soo salty and again, the fries were overdone. I told the server, she talked to the chef, he said everything was done to his liking and that's all there was to it. We paid $30 plus tip for a meal we didn't eat. Don't eat at this restaurant.

I would never recommend this place to anybody. I ordered the nights special which was steak, broccoli rob and potato. The broccoli rob looked like cream spinach and the steak was like an old shoe with grizzle running through it. The potatoes were bland. Even the salad that came was just field greens with some onion on top and a carrot. We had a new waitress. I took one bite of each of the foods on my plate and sat there while my husband ate his meal which was a pizza. No offer from waitress to take the meal back to the chef or anything as she knew I was very disappointed with the meal. This was not cheap either. So we spent a lot of money on a terrible meal!

Great service, friendly owners and the pizza was amazing. Thank you for existing so we can escape all the tourist food traps with mediocre food that are nearby. I got a 10-inch personal size margherita pizza with added pepperoni and it tasted about as traditional as it could, and was the perfect size to save room for breachside ice cream later :). We've been to Italy and NYC and have tried many Italian pizza locations but this was on par with the best Neapolitan pizza we had in NY and was definitely on par with the Italian pizza places we visited in Venice, arguably better. Would definitely recommend this place for the bar with many TVs, room for larger parties, and for the pizza itself! Thanks for a great lunch mid afternoon!!

After a long, tiring, post wedding day photo shoot on the beach in the heat, hubby and I were hungry but felt like spending the night in our hotel room to relax and unwind from the previous days events. Room service had been OK for breakfast and hubby wanted pizza, so we opted to look outside the hotel instead if ordering in. I stumbled upon this restaurant on yelp and we decided we would give it a try. He called and ordered a pizza and went to pick it up. They were prompt with his order and he returned with a great smelling pizza pie box. I hungrily took a slice and it was delicious! The cheese, sauce, and basil mixes together wonderfully and the flavor was just perfect.

First time trying Tuttorossa! It was absolutely delicious! Meatballs were the size of baseballs and the Cannelloni was the best I've had. We also ordered Bruschetta and it was great! The atmosphere was casual and our waiter was so friendly and very attentive. This would be a great date night place. My family will be back, it's our new favorite Italian spot! Authentic.

Delicious pizza and pasta. The white piazza is omg good. The homemade tiramasu is to die for, a creamy cloud melts in your mouth. You can get half and half pizza which is so accommodating to try different pizza. The service is wonderful run by a family. Will be back many many times.

I just had dinner and the food was amazing. We had the rigatoni with eggplant which was so delicious and a pizza that is one of the best I've had and I consider myself a pizza expert. Our server was attentive and friendly. When we couldn't decide between two pizzas she said, "not a problem , how about we make each 1/2 the way you want it." Their sauce tastes like it just flew in from Italy and I can't say enough about the generous portions at a very reasonable price. This is Italian food at it's best.

Delicious pizza! Beautiful fresh green salad. We had this delivered to the pool at our hotel. They were so nice and delivered faster than expected. The pizza was New York style and delicious. We also ordered a large family salad and it was beautiful! Very fresh, not bagged. Dressing tastes and looked homemade. I would recommend for sure. Thank you!

My dad and I visited the restaurant after ordering take out pizza from it a couple of nights previously. My dad who is a serious pasta geek said that the spaghetti bolognese was the best he ever tasted. I have to say the lasagna I had was up there as well. Great food, lovely lovely service-(our waitress was the Italian sister of the owner) we'd definitely go back if visiting the area again!

The pizza is New York style and it's awesome! The best I've had here in Florida! The wings are awesome! The service is also very good. This is our Second day in a row here. Love it!

I am local! My entire extended family comes here regularly! The food is great, STELLA on tap with great happy hour price and everyone that works there is so friendly. A great place to visit you'll come back again!

Very cool atmosphere but the food isn't backing it up. The Caesar salad had so much dressing it was actually dripping and our bruchetta could have knocked someone out it was so hard. BF had spaghetti and bolognase sauce which was just not good at all. I had the baked rigatoni which wasn't too bad. If we come back, we will try the pizza instead. As they had some made sitting in the gallery window and look pretty good.

We chose this place due to the ratings and we were definitely happy with our choice. First off, the place is pretty casual (we had just come back from a walk on the beach in t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops). We sat outside as it was a nice day, so I can't really comment how casual the inside of the restaurant was. They had a happy hour special that was really good...buy one get one free off draft beer and some glasses of wine. My DH got a pint of local craft beer with this offer... I don't remember the price, but I know some of the glasses of wine were $3-6...Pretty darn good considering you get another glass free. We ordered a margherita pizza which was really good. The sauce tasted nice and had a vibrant tomato flavor...(not the thicker pasty sauce that most places have). They make their own fresh mozzarella which was really nice on the pizza. Even though we enjoyed this, we thought next time, we'd try the regular cheese pizza (with regular shredded mozzarella) we saw someone else order. The dough was a thin New York style...somewhat crisp, yet chewy. Our entrees came with a fresh and nicely presented salad. It consisted of spring greens mix, red onions, shaved carrots and tomatoes and their dressing was a balsamic vinaigrette that tasted really light. Not too tart/sharp like other places. My DH ordered the meat canneloni. The waitress said the stuffed pastas are made fresh there. It was really good, however, heavier than what my husband was wanting...he was expecting more ricotta and less meat. Perhaps on a colder day thai would've been the perfect choice. I ordered the spaghetti with clams in olive oil, garlic, chopped tomatoes. I was disappointed when the waitress came back to tell me the chef doesn't put any sauce (red sauce or white sauce), but when I took that first bite, it was one of the freshest most garlicky tasting clam pasta I've ever had! The clams were a type I've never seen before...really small (see the pic I posted), but there were plenty of them. I'm glad the chef refused to serve this dish with a sauce as the juices from the clams made a sauce for itself. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente. At the end, I ordered a chocolate mousse cake to go. This was really good, however it tastes like it had been sitting in the fridge uncovered. I still ate the whole piece the next day. The service was great and friendly at first, however once people started rolling in, our waitress, who was Italian, started to look a bit frazzled and less talkative. All in all, we loved this place and I will definitely be back for the clam pasta! This is why I'm overlooking some minor things to give this place a 5 star review.

Superb lite Italian fare. Best pizza on the beach. Great Italian arugala.salad, tomatoes, presiutto, olives, onions, evo and balsamic.

Delicious and authentic! Garlic knots and tomato bread to start are good enough to ruin your meal. Spaghetti and meatballs was large enough to share between my hubby and I. Authentic red sauce, homemade pasta, and large moist, seasoned to perfection meatballs! Skip the crowd at Verduccis across the street ( it's also delicious) but this place is better for pizza/basic spaghetti and meatballs!

Tuttorossa Pizzeria is AWESOME! They have the BEST food and consistent on every order 7 days a week! You never have to HOPE you're going to get good food! The pizza is crusty and delicious, great rigatoni with eggplant, roasted vegetables are awesome and the arancini balls (rice balls) are out of this world! JUST GOOOOOO!

Decided to get pizza from the beach. Skipped a local pizza shack for a sit- down venue and what a great choice that was. This place has true Italian pizza. For those people that cannot grasp that last comment, it's like this. You have American fast-food, confectionary garbage. Then there is the "New York Style" pizzaria living off of their momma and pappa's past accolades. Ten there is Tuttorosso. Expertly crafted pizzas, crisp crust, perfect sauce and perfected, tried and true recipes past down from generation to generation. You want pizza in St Pete? Go to Tuttorosso's.

Surprise Surprise! Small place BIG tasty food Giant salads, great appetizers (enough for a meal). Really good pizza too, While we were there, three other groups came in and all were recognized as returning tourists. If they treat tourists that nice, I want to be a regular local. We all liked the food, the service ( Patricia), and the place. Ran out of nights on this visit, we will be back!. Th e pasta dishes sounded really good, I saw a serving of lasagna in the warmer to be served, it looked tasty too. Thank you for a nice evening and meal.

Wow, what a find. I went looking for pizza and found one of the best Italian Restaurants on the beaches. Their version of Zuppa da Pesce was delicious. The atmosphere is casual but not a pizza joint. They have a nice bar with lots of TV's if you want to watch a game. The place just smells great. Do yourself a favor and check it out!!!

There are 2 pizza places across the road. I assume this place survives on overflow from them. Crust is decent; sauce reminds one of spaghetri-os; cheese is mediocre and not much of it. All in all pretty weak.

Low rating is for dine-in. Service is unbelievably bad. Slow service, wrong orders, etc. Pizza and wings however are OUTSTANDING. We have eaten here about a dozen times and gave them a fair shot at overcoming "one time" bad service. It's not a one-time thing. The servers are poor across the board. The cooks are pleasant and welcoming. Take it from me and take it out! (however check the box before you leave to ensure you got what you ordered)

What a terrific find. Not a huge menu. Good thing in my opinion. Less is often best. Simple but reasonable wine list. I had a wonderful fish entree, served over perfectly cooked rigatoni. The sauce was a light red sauce with olives, cherry tomatoes and just the right amount of brine. Wonderful. My wife's baked rigatoni with eggplant was wonderful. Bit of spice. Not smothered with cheese. Very well done dish. Attentive and polite staff. Very welcoming. We will be back.

If you are looking for thin New York style pizza then you have found the right place! Recommended to me by a friend who owns a pizza/ pub in NY ... He was right on. Their other menu items are good too, but I can't resist their pizza.

Went to Tuttorosso for the first time tonight on a whim. Absolutely amazed by the pizza! Ordered the Arugula pie with prosciutto, plum tomatoes, and shaved parm on a thin crust cheese base (no red sauce)- incredible! Medium 16" pizza was $17 and was def bigger than 16". Local and import drafts for $3.50 a pint. The group next to us was mid way through their pasta dishes when our pizza came out, and they were verbally jealous, but quickly explained that tonight was there second night eating there this week. They had pizza the first night and we're having equally amazing looking freshly made pastas tonight. Service was excellent! Our server was extremely conscientious and practically insisted that we finish everything on our plates before taking them away! Then when she boxed up our remaining slices (we tried but could only eat half the pie) she very carefully put every single piece of arugula and Parmesan into the box! It was awesome. Until now my wife and I put Cappy's at the top of the pizza list in St Pete. Now there is a contender...

Yummmmy! True north east coast style pizza done right. Large cheese pizza delivered to my room earlier than promised. Perfect crust, great sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Pizza bliss for this Boston girl stranded in the Midwest!

The crisp, thin-crusted pizza showed-off hot banana peppers, black olive slices and satiny soft anchovies -- it brought back vivid memories of Southern Coastal Italy. There is an impressive deli counter of house-grilled veggies and toppings I plan to explore next time I miss the Mediterranean.

This review is based solely on their cheese pizza. I'm from NJ, I'm picky...especially about my pizza. I have tried so many different pizza joints since moving here and all of them were either terrible or "good enough", but I never really craved pizza (same thing about bagels since moving here...but that's another review). This place has a great deal from Mon - Wed, $6.99 for a large cheese pizza, pick up only. You can't beat that price! But it's not about price, this pizza is incredible! The other bonus is, the guys in the kitchen (which is in plain view) are the nicest guys! Very friendly, funny and social. I look forward to picking up the pizza just to see them!

  • Marc B.

I stopped in for a quick lunch after reading the reviews. I had two slices of pizza; one white and the other a standard tomato sauce and mozzarella. The white pizza was $3.00 per slice and the other was $2.00. The pizza was NY stile with a good thin crust and the pizza Bianca was delicious. The sauce on the other slice was the weak link, though. It tasted like canned Boy-ar-dee ! If I go back I will stick to the specialty pizzas.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
